Ethel A. Cretsinger

Ethel A. Cretsinger, age 92, of 309 Owl Hollow Road, Shady Valley, TN passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at the Mountain City Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was a native of Johnson County and was born September 30, 1912 to the late Stanley and Arlene Blevins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Cretsinger who died March 24, 1982 and one infant daughter. Mrs. Cretsinger was a former Dietician for Shady Valley School and a homemaker. She was a member of Shady Valley Church of Christ and loved sewing, cooking and Quilting. Survivors include two sons: Frazier A. and wife Maydell B.Cretsinger of Powhatan, VA and Edwin Oris and wife Laura Cretsinger of Tampa, Floirda, three sisters: Hilda Long and Vienna Blevins of Shady Valley and Gearldine Proffitt of Booneville, MO, one brother; Donald Blevins of Springfield, VA, three grandchildren: Shaun Cretsinger of Tampa, FL, Juliann Cretsinger and Jack Stewartz of San Francisco, CA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held 11;00 a. m. Saturday, May 21, 2005, from the Shady Valley Church of Christ with Mr. Jim Sherman officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Church. Burial will follow in the Blevins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Tony Long, Lonnie Long, Huey Long, Kevin Long, Shaun Cretsinger and Jack Stewartz. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2005 at the Shady Valley Church of Christ, and other times friends may call at the family residence, 309 Owl Hollow Road, Shady Valley, TN.
