Ethel Ann Edwards, age 76, 402 East Myrtle Avenue, Johnson City, TN passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Mountain City Care and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Bradley Henry Lane and Fannie Ruffner Lane. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hoke Edwards, Jr. Three sisters, Dorothy Carver, Ida Dodson and Mae Greer and two brothers, Henry and Willie Dodson. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and sewing. She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Huffman and husband Keith of Shady Valley, TN; a son, Hoke Edwards III of Johnson City, TN. One granddaughter, Timbra Huffman, Shady Valley, TN; one nephew, Larry Dotson and wife Kathy, Johnson City, TN.; one niece, Shirlee Cardiff and husband Allen of St. Sault Marie, Canada. Several great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. from the East Side Memory Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside service and interment will be Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from Tri-Cities Memory Gardens in Blountville, TN. The Rev. Steven Spencer and Mr. Jim Hutchinson will be officiating.
