Ms. Ethel Rosie Jones, age 84, of 491 Bryan Davis Road, Creston, NC passed away Tuesday afternoon at Johnson City Medical Center. Ethel was born October 25, 1927 to the late Wib Eastridge and Dilia Howmans Eastridge. She attended Big Laurel Mennonite Church and she loved listening to gospel music and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harvey Jones in 2007; one daughter: Helen Barnett; one son: Robert Jones; one sister: Ruby Ham and one brother: Hacker Eastridge. Survivors include: one daughter: Violet Bare and husband Denver of Lansing, NC; one son: James Walter Jones and wife Vivaloyd of Newton, NC; one sister: Ruth Pack of Ararat, VA; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; four nieces and one nephew. Special friends Vedie Pope, Effie Gambill and Frances Farmer, all of Creston, NC also survive. Funeral services for Ms. Ethel Rosie Jones will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2012 from Big Laurel Christian Union Church with Rev. Mike Farmer and Rev. Spencer Roark officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robby Jones, Anthony Bare, James Bare, Andy Johnson, Earl Barnett, Jr, Sean Bumgarner, Justin Hulings and David Jones. At other times friends may call at the residence, 491 Bryan David Road, Creston, NC.
