Eugene W. Shoun, age 91, of 462 Roan Creek Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at his residence. He was a native of Johnson County and was born July 9, 1914 to the late Leonard Pedro and Laura Roberts Shoun in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Taylor Shoun, 4 brothers, and 5 sisters. He was a retired metal worker in Stow, Ohio for General Motors and also worked several years for Quaker Oats Co. He was a Member of the Stow Methodist Church in Stow, Ohio but attended First United Methodist Church in Mountain City, a Veteran of the U. S. Army, a member of the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge # 243 F. & AM, and was active in local Politics. Survivors; include: A daughter, Jane Lynn Shoun and husband David High of Brentwood, TN A son: Leonard Shoun and wife Linda of Stow, Ohio One sister: Ruth Little of Kennett Square, Pa. Three grandchildren: Laura Shoun, Amanda and Taylor High Several Nieces and Nephews Funeral services for Eugene W. Shoun will be held 10:00 a. m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 from the Chapel of the Henson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Rye to officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Members of the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge # 243 F & AM. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p. m. Friday from the Henson Funeral Home Chapel, and other times friends may call at the residence on Friday and Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund First United Methodist Church for Eugene W. Shoun, 128 North Church Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
