Fausteen Lipford Sanders, 84, of 216 Tater Hill Road, Zionville, NC passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009 in Glen Bridge Health and Rehab, Boone, NC. She was the daughter of the late B.C. Lipford and Mae Jones Lipford. Ms. Sanders was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Zionville, NC and she was an employee of Hillbilly Trading Post for twenty years. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Will Sanders in 1965; one sister: Norma South; five brothers: Dagle, Raymond, Perry, Ralph and Gary Lipford and Special Friend Vesta Lee Wheeler.

Survivors include: one daughter: Caroline Castle and husband Lewis of Zionville, NC; one granddaughter: Amy Davis and husband Mike of Zionville, NC; one great grandchild: Megan Davis of Zionville, NC; special in-law: Opal Castle of Boone, NC; three sisters-in-law: Juanita Sanders, Bertha Wilson and Beulah Sanders, all of Zionville, NC; two brothers: Buford Lipford and Boyd Lipford, both of Mountain City, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Fausteen Lipford Sanders will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. David Bentley officiating. Music will be by Tina Lipford and Sherry Tester. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2009 from Lipford Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Stout and Scott McDonough. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, %Ann Thomas, 1564 Silverstone Road, Zionville, NC 28698.
At other times friends may call at the residence of her daughter, Caroline Castle, 216 Tater Hill Road, Zionville, NC 28698.
