Faye Neely Brinkley, age 89, of 184 Brinkley Road, Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. A native of the Sutherland Community, she was born on April 29, 1917 to the late Isaac and Susan (Hand) Neely. In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Gervis Brinkley, seven sisters: Belle Goodman, Jane Hand, Betty Eller, Grace Davis, Nelle Jenkins, Blanche Hand and infant Margie Neely and three brothers: Henry Neely, Joe Neely and Robert Neely. She was a former employee of Big Jack Manufacturing. She enjoyed the outdoors and walking, especially taking walks in Shady Valley. Faye was an active member of Shady Valley Senior Citizens and a FCE member. She was also a member of the Shady Valley Baptist Church. Faye is survived by several special nieces and nephews and many, many dear friends and neighbors. Funeral Services for Faye Neely Brinkley will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006 from the Shady Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Stout and Mr. Jim Sherman to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Shady Valley Baptist Church Choir, Ms. Jennifer Eller and Ms. Tabitha Jenkins. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the Services. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006 from the Wood-Scott Cemetery, Shady Valley, Tennessee. Active Pallbearers will be: John Shumate, Bert Brinkley, Lynn Campbell, Randy Campbell, John Cornett and Jess Hawks. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brian Hutchinson, JL Shumate, Jim Eller and Dr. Michael Kimbro. Family, Pallbearers and Friends are asked to assemble by 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, at the Cemetery for Graveside Services. A special thank-you and appreciation to Sharon McQueen and Barbara Bishop.
