Faye T. Smith, age 91, of 474 Furnace Creek Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at her residence. She was born on September 18, 1914 in Johnson County to the late Bruce and Emma Taylor. In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Smith; four brothers: Paul, Harley, Burl and Ray Taylor and one daughter, Shirley Rhymer. Faye was a homemaker and a member of Sawmill Creek Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. Faye is survived by three daughters: Peggy Jones, Betty McKinnis and husband Jim and Elizabeth Morefield, all of Mountain City, TN; five sons: Jimmy Smith and wife Patty, Jack Smith and wife Thelma, Ted Smith and wife Mary, Burley Smith, all of Mountain City, TN and Joe Smith and wife Susie of Zionville, NC; son-in-law, Earl Rhymer of Mountain City, TN; one brother, Ted Taylor of Mountain City, Tn; 15 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Faye T. Smith will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2006 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Bill Reece officiating. Committal Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006 from the Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Family, Pallbearers and Friends are asked to assemble by 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the Cemetery for Committal Services. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to Services, at the Funeral Home. At other times friends may call at the residence of Jim and Betty McKinnis, 563 Furnace Creek Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
