Frances L. Oliver

Frances L. Oliver, age 85, of Mountain City, TN went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2012 at the Watauga Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 17, 1927 to the late Barney and Minnie Pearl Blackburn Lunceford. She was a homemaker, she loved to quilt, sew, embroidery, crochet and reading and she was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Roy Oliver on February 28, 1988; brothers, J. R. Lunceford, Ed Lunceford and Gordy Lunceford, and one grandson, James Vanover. She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Vanover, Tishia Vaught and husband, Delmar Vaught, and Ann Oliver, of the home, all of Mountain City, TN; sons; Charles Oliver and wife Sandra of Mountain City, TN; Ralph Oliver and wife Jane of Creston, NC and Carl Oliver and wife Elaine of Butler, T; Sisters; Lillian Arnold of Butler, TN and Ruth Issacs of Mountain City, TN and one brother, Max Lunceford of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren, Teresa Tester and husband Norman, Alicia Morefield, Kevin Oliver and wife Amy, Ray Oliver, Joshua Morefield, all of Mountain City, TN, Joey Oliver of Butler, TN, Jessica Murphy and husband Shannon of Creston, NC. Great Grandchildren, Cody Tester and wife Tynae of Laurel Bloomery, TN, Hunter Greene, Dalton Morefield, Natalie Oliver, all of Mountain City, TN, Miles Murphy and baby Murphy of Creston, NC and Brittany Ward of Marion, VA; step geat great grandson Eli Crowder. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 7:00 pm from Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Howard, Rev. Leonard Fletcher and Rev. Dean Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm prior to the funeral service. Music will be provided by Sandy Roberts, Joe Simcox, Brittany Fletcher and Fredia Wagner. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2012 from Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Norman Tester, Delmar Vaught, Don Matheson, Johnny Stout, David Lunceford, Keith Lunceford, Ray Lunceford, Jeff Lunceford, Adam Lunceford, Johnaton Lunceford, Michael Lunceford, and Thomas Lunceford. Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Matheson, Kevin Oliver, Ray Oliver, Joey Oliver, Josh Morefield, Cody Tester, Hunter Greene, Dalton Morefield, and Miles Murphy.
