Frances Canter Pardue, age 89, of 864 Chestnut Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the Mountain City Care Center following an extended illness. She was born on August 29, 1915 in Trade, Tennessee, to the late Jonathan and Sarah Miller Canter. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Pardue, who passed away in 1995; three sisters: Bessie Potter, Flora Tester and Hattie Snyder; three brothers: Flavil Canter, Earl Canter and Stacey Canter and one daughter-in-law, Patsy Ann Pardue, who passed away July 24, 2005. Frances was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a member of the Mountain City Church of Christ. Frances is survived by three daughters: Alma Sala and husband Don, Janice Pardue and Carol Pardue, all of Mountain City, Tn; three sons: Edgar Pardue and wife Georgia of Zionville, NC, Butler Pardue of Soddy Daisy, Tn and Jimmy Pardue and wife Louise of Mountain City, Tn; one sister, Pauline Reedy of Mountain City, Tn; one brother, Junior Canter of Trade, Tn; five grandchildren: David Pardue and wife Wanda of Mocksville, NC, Donna Burgess and husband Brent, Arlen Sala and wife Sharon, Gary Sala, all of Mountain City, Tn, and Melisa Pardue of Soddy Daisy, Tn; four great grandchildren: Greta Burgess, Deidre Burgess, Shania Sala and Austin Sala, all of Mountain City, Tn. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Frances will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Everette Morefield and Mr. Mike Taylor to officiate. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2005 from the Sunset Memorial Park. Family, Pallbearers and Friends are asked to assemble by 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Funeral Home to go in procession. Active Pallbearers will be: Larry Canter, Darrell Eggers, Bill Hammons, Paul Sadjak, Dean Townsend and Hal Wagner. Honorary Pallbearers are: Grandsons; David Pardue, Arlen Sala and Gary Sala; grandson-in-law, Brent Burgess and Dr. Michael Kimbro. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 on Thursday, prior to Services. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 864 Chestnut Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
