Francis Lee Scheirer, a loving father, faithful friend, and servant of God, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025 at the age of 80.
Born on December 13, 1944, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Francis lived a life marked by integrity, kindness, and quiet strength. He built a long and accomplished career at EBM, where he was respected not only for his work ethic but also for the way he treated others-with patience, humility, and compassion.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents, Francis A. Scheirer and Elsie Conway Scheirer; son, Matthew Lee Scheirer and special friend, Bessie Moody.
Francis had many passions in life, but one of his greatest joys was trains. Whether it was watching them, collecting models, or sharing his knowledge with others, trains were more that a hobby-they were a lifelong fascination that reflected his thoughtful, detail-oriented nature and his appreciation for the journey, not just the destination.
Throughout his life, Francis remained deeply involved in his church, generously giving his time and energy in service to others. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he lived it with quiet conviction-offering comfort, support, and love to everyone around him.
He also found great joy in life's simple routines-especially his regular morning gatherings with close friends at Hardee's. Those breakfasts, full of laughter, conversation, and fellowship, were a highlight of his days and a reflection of the friendships he cherished.
He is survived by his daughter, Ann Marie Phipps; mother of his children, Linda M. Scheirer; sisters, Sally Ann Corbin (Floyd) and Jean Kerr (Chuck); grandchildren, Cassie Phipps, Katie Oakes, Olivia Scheirer, Wyatt Scheirer and Johnathan Looney; great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; special niece, Beth Ann Corbin-Wilber, special friend, Steve Spraglin and The Hardee's Gang.
