Fred "Harv" Morefield

Fred "Harv" Morefield, age 55, of 231 Dent Johnson Lane, Mountain City, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at the Watauga Medical Center, in Boone, North Carolina, after an extended illness. Mr. Morefield was a native of Johnson County, born on April 16, 1947 to the late Elbert "Ebb" and Hazel Forrester Morefield. He was retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors: Wife: Georgia Morefield, of the home (2) Daughters: Loy Manis, Mountain City, TN Amy and husband Tim Price, Mountain City, TN (2) Sons: Freddy Morefield, Mountain City, TN Johnny Mack Brown, Jr., Mountain City, TN (1) Sister: Muriel and husband John Payne, Mountain City, TN (2) Brothers: Ray and wife Dorthy Morefield, Mountain City, TN Carl Morefield, Mountain City, TN (1) Grandson: Montana Earl Price, Mountain City, TN Several Nieces and Nephews Special Friend: Jack Proffitt Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Fred "Harv" Morefield will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 21, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Porter and Rev. Ted Lewis to officiate. Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 22, 2003 in the Lewis-Forrester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Proffitt, Joe Guinn, Dave Guinn, Doug McFadden, Reed McFadden, Robert McFadden, Tim Price, Fred South, and Bill Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John Whitlock, Dr. Flint Gray, Dr. Jim Godwin, Dr. Mack, and the Nursing staff at the Watauga County Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 21, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home chapel. Friends may also call at the residence, 231 Dent Johnson Lane, Mountain City, at any time. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
