Garney R. "Frog" Reece

Mr. Garney R. Reece, age 83, of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Tuesday morning, March 23, 2010 at the Mountain City Care and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. Mr. Reece was the son of the late Albert Reece and Nellie May Reece. Garney was retired from Broyhill Furniture Company of Lenoir, North Carolina.  He was preceded in death by four brothers; LeRoy, Boyd, Dana and Loyd Reece and one sister; Annie Watson.

 

Survivors include one sister; Hallie Dugger of Piney Flats, Tennessee, one sister-in-law; Goldie Reece of Mountain City, Tennessee, several nieces and nephews and special friends Tim Nelson and Matthew Reece both of Mountain City, Tennessee.

 

Funeral Services for Mr. Reece will be conducted at 11:00a.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 from the Memory Chapel of the Teague Funeral Home, with Rev. David Hankal to officiate. Active pallbearers will be Rob Reece, Tim Reece, Lenny Keys, Tim Nelson, Tom Nelson, Dave Thompson, Matthew Reece and Kenny Head. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Wilson and Danny Ray Wilson. Graveside services and interment will be held following the service at Rainbow Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. prior to the funeral service. Friends may call at the residence of Goldie Reece, 354 Dotson Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee at any time.
