Geneva S. Hurd, age 75, of Bluffton, SC, and formerly of Mountain City, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 at her residence. Ms. Hurd was a homemaker. She was a daughter of the late George Robinson and Edith Reece Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Hurd and two sons, Benjamin Fortner and Baney Fortner, one daughter, Susie Callahan, two sisters, Dora Wilson and Georgia Hodge, and a brother, Justin Robinson. Survivors include: two daughters, Brenda Mains and husband Edward of Mountain City, TN, Tammy Mauldin and husband Marty of Bluffton, SC; son, Barry Fortner of Mountain City, TN; two sisters, Helen Bumgardner of Trade, TN and Violet Mast and husband Bobby of North East, MD; one brother, Charles Robinson and wife Iva Lee of Trade, TN; Five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. A service for Geneva will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.from the Hux-Lipford Memory Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Johnson officiating.
