Geneva H. Roskie

Geneva H. Roskie, age 73, of 1529 Swift Hollow Road, Mountain City, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2003 in the Mountain City Care Center after an extended illness. Mrs. Roskie was a native of Harland, Kentucky and was was born to the late Bird and Nora Ealy Howard on November 14, 1929. She was a graduate of Blackstar High School in Harland, Kentucky and was a member of Pathfork Holiness Church in Pathfork, Kentucky. Mrs. Roskie was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Roskie in 1978; daughter, Jerry Sue Jones in 1999; grandson, Jo Jo Eller in 2000; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors: (6) Daughters: Shirley Morris, Johnson City, TN; Kathy Eller, Mountain City, TN; Nora Sutphin, Johnson City, TN; Bobbie Lane, Mountain City, TN; Brenda Edwards, Jonesboro, TN; Angel Coward, Knoxville, TN; (5) Sons: Bruce Roskie, Harland, KY; William Glenn Roskie, Knoxville, TN; David Roskie, Knoxville, TN; Steve Roskie, Mountain City, TN; Jeffery Roskie, of the home; (1) Brother: Ray Howard, Seabring, FL; (19) Grandchildren, (5) Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews. Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Geneva H. Roskie will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Dwayne Dixon and Rev. Frank Woods to officiate. The family will meet at 12:15 P.M. Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home to go in procession to the Phillippi Cemetery for graveside services at 1:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Robert Edwards, Michael Lunceford, Adam Lunceford, Ken Lane, Earl Campbell, and Douglas Osborne. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rodney Eller, Ray Lunceford, and members of the US Army Reserve. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. Friends may also call at the homes of her daughters, Bobbie Lane, 142 Sharp Lane or Kathy Eller, 519 Liberty Church Road, at any time.
