George F. Simon Jr.

George F. Simon, Jr., age 66, of 441 Blue Buck Road, Todd, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at the James H. Quillen Veterans Administration Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of New York, he was born on May 25, 1938 to Ethel Kuhns Simon and the late George F. Simon Sr. George was a Parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua. He enjoyed model ships, boating and roller coasters. He was a United States Navy Veteran. In addition to his mother, George is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Moher Simon, of the home; two sons, George Simon and wife Sharon of Bayshore, NY and Thomas Simon and wife Donna Jean of Todd, NC; two sisters, Patricia Regan of Bayshore, NY and Nancy Schlack of Hertford, NC; two brothers, John Simon of FL and Frank Simon of Newport Richie, FL; eight grandchildren, Thomas, Jessica, Nicholas, Laurie, Caitlin, Shannon, Sean and Patrick. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Mass for George will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2004 from the St. Anthony of Padua, Mountain City, Tennessee. Military Honors and Interment will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 from the Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee. Active Pallbearers will be: Thomas Simon, Thomas Simon Jr., Geroge Simon, Frank Simon and Alan Brent. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2004 and 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel.
