George Miller Stang, age 82, of 972 Roan Valley Drive, Mountain City, TN went home to be with his Lord from his residence Sunday, January 30, 2011. Mr. Stang was a native of Dawsonville, Maryland but had made his home in Mountain City, TN for a number of years. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mountain City, TN. Mr. Stang was a veteran Merchant Marine, was employed as a manager, designer and builder for the Dept. of Defense in International Development. His hobbies were woodworking and playing golf. In addition to his parents, George T. and Mildred Stang, a sister Joan Lufkin preceded him in death. Several Nieces and Nephews Funeral services for George Miller Stang will be conducted at 12 noon Friday, February 4, 2011 from the Kensington Baptist Church in Kensington Maryland with Rev. James Norman and Rev. Bill George to officiate. Music will be by Rev. James Norman. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville, MD.Pallbearers will be.D.J. Sites, Michael Sites,Justin Powers, Charles Powers, Jake Baker, Chris Tippett, David Sites, and Rob Powers.
