Geraldine Virginia Potter Thomas, age 77, of 1437 Spear Branch Road, Mountain City, TN passed away peacefully Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Life Care Center of Gray, TN.

She was the daughter of the late Clarence Potter and Lizzie Elizabeth Wilson Potter. Geraldine was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Her hobbies included cooking and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Sparky” Thomas; two sons: Jessie “Pete” Raymond Thomas and Gerald Dewayne Thomas; two sisters and two brothers.

 

Survivors include: two daughters: Katie Ann Prolenski and husband Donald of Holtwood, PA and Nancy Elizabeth Holmes of Elkton, MD; four sons: Wiley C. Thomas and Kenneth Paul Thomas and wife Kim, both of Mountain City, TN; Jerome “Jerry” Childress -Thomas and wife Shelby of Afton, TN; and Doyle “Doug” Campbell -Thomas and wife Beth of Chattanooga, TN; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Special friends include Edith Thompson and Staff of Life Care Center of Gray.

 

A celebration of life service will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

 

At other times friends may call the residence of her son, Wiley Thomas, at 1437 Spear Branch Road, Mountain City, TN.
