Gertrude Parsons Mcmichael

Gertrude Parsons McMichael, age 87, of 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 01, 2005. A native of Johnson County, Tennessee, she was born on October 14, 1917 to the late Baxter and Ellen Farmer Parsons. In addition to her parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Walter LeRoy McMichael, who passed away in 1985; three brothers: Rod Parsons, Charlie Parsons and Bill Parsons and one sister, Della Chappell. Gertrude was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church where she was loved by all. She is survived by two daughters, Judy McMichael of Mountain City, TN and Carolyn Dollar of Toughkenamon, PA; one sister, Pearl Winters of Mountain City, TN; five grandchildren: Michelle Ann Roberts, Fred Walsh Jr., Robert Mack Walsh, Jimmy Dollar, Donnie Dollar, Jr. and Amanda Dollar; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Gertrude will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2005 from the First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Woods, Rev. Frank Johnson and Rev. Barry Dunn to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Jerry Horne and the Master's Touch. Burial will be in the Donnelly Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Layton Dollar, Fred Dowell, Jay Evans, Malcolm Howard, Sr., Blaine Winters and Bruce Winters. Honorary Pallbearers are Gertrude's nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2005 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel and at other times the family will be at the home of her sister, Pearl Winters, 675 Stout Road, Mountain City.
