Gladys B. Roberts

Gladys B. Roberts, age 86, 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, TN passed away Tuesday morning, July 10, 2012 in Mountain City Care Center. She was a daughter of the late Dave Howard and Susie Potter Howard. Gladys was a member of Berea Baptist Church and she loved reading, cooking and especially loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Lester Osborne. Survivors include: her husband, Archie Roberts; one daughter: Sallie Hall of Chicago, IL; six sons: Doug Osborne and wife Camilla; Delbert Osborne and wife Sheila; Charles Osborne and wife Denise; Darrell Osborne and wife Evelyn; Archie Roberts, Jr. (Mack) and wife Lisa, all of Mountain City, TN; Lynn Osborne and wife Kim of Kingsport, TN; one sister: Pauline Miller of Mountain City, TN; one brother: Edward Howard of Ashland, OH; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Gladys B. Roberts will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Spencer, Rev. Randy Shoun and Rev. James Pardue officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Staff at Mountain City Care Center. At other times friends may call at the residence of the son, Doug Osborne, 174 Eller Road, Mountain City, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caris Healthcare, 110 W. Springbrook Ave., Suite A, Johnson City, TN 37604 or to St. Jude's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
