Gloria Sanders Barlow

Gloria Sanders Barlow, age 49, of 482 Hospital Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away February 08, 2004. A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, she was born June 11, 1954 to the late Leon Sanders and Gloria Rodriguez-Sanders. She was a graduate of Independence High School of Charlotte, North Carolina and received a Bachelor Degree of Special Education from Appalachian State University. Gloria was crowned Ms. UNC, Asheville in 1973. She enjoyed reading, music, poetry and hiking. Gloria was preceded in death by her father and husband Frank Barlow, who passed away in 2002. She is survived by two daughters; Christian Barlow, Lenoir, North Carolina and Gabrielle Barlow, Mountain City, Tennessee, three sons; Delaney Barlow, Jeshua Barlow both of Mountain City, Tennessee and Jeremy Barlow of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, one sister; Cynthia Moody of Charlotte, North Carolina, one grandchild; Summer Moretz of Lenoir, North Carolina and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services for Gloria Sanders Barlow will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Gambill to officiate. Family will receive friends 12-1:00 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Elk Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Banner Elk, North Carolina. Active Pallbearers will be Delaney Barlow, Jeremy Barlow, Jeshua Barlow, Joey Moody, Jason Moody and Aaron Gregg. Honorary Pallbearer is Jeremy Barlow. Friends may also call at the residence, 482 Hospital Road, Mountain City, Tennessee at anytime.
