Harold G. Crowder, age 70, of 199 Crowder Road, Mountain City, Tennessee. went to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 5, 2003 at his home. Mr. Crowder was born June 3, 1933 in Johnson County, Tennessee to the late Manley and Ella Warren Crowder. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters: Trilla Norris, Edna Crowder, Opal Pardue and 4 brothers: Otis Crowder, Clyde Crowder, Orville Crowder, and Delmer Crowder. He was a U.S. Army Veteran where he served as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne, owner of Harold's Rural Garbage Service and a member of Roan Creek Baptist Church. Survivors: Wife, Rochelle Joyner Crowder 2 Daughters: Linda Morefield and husband, Mike of Laurel Bloomery Edna Miller and husband, Greg of Mountain City Son: Charles (Chuck) Crowder and wife, Sharon of Mountain City Daughter-in-law: Kathy Crowder 3 Sisters: Mamie Adams, Dorothy Pardue and Pauline Greear 3 Brothers: Wayne Crowder, Earl Crowder and Jim Crowder Grandchildren: Kim Leonard and husband Mark Nikki Taylor and husband Jimmy Charles G. Crowder Michael Morefield Haley Miller Great-grandchildren: Caitlin, Serena and Natalyi Several Nieces and Nephews Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Harold G. Crowder will be conducted on Monday, July 7, 2003 at 8 P.M. from Roan Creek Baptist Church with Mack Tester and Derl McCloud to officiate. Pallbearers will be Jay Davis, Archie Crowder, Wayne Crowder, Michael Morefield, Charles G. Crowder and Darrel Crowder. Honorary Pallbearers will be Claude Warren, Ernest Warren, J. C. Crowder, Jim Norris, Larry Wilson, Greg Robinson, and Brian Allen. Graveside Services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 10 A.M. from the Sunset Memorial Park, Mountain City. Family and friends are asked to meet at Roan Creek Baptist Church by 9:30 A. M. Tuesday to follow in procession to Sunset Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 P.M. Monday at Roan Creek Baptist Church prior to the service. Friends may call at the residence anytime. For those who desire, contributions may be made to the Roan Creek Baptist Church, or to Adventa Hospice, 106 Rogosin Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
