Harold Dean Eastridge of 576 Hummingbird Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away very peacefully and went home to be with his Lord and Heavenly Father at his residence with his loving family by his side on Friday, December 25, 2009 after a lengthily battle with Leukodystrophy. Harold was born July 13, 1960 to Lois Wallace Eastridge-Greer the late Ferd Eastridge. Along with his father he was preceded in death by his brother Doug Eastridge and Uncle Bill Wallace. Harold followed in his father’s choice of work and was a carpenter. He loved woodworking and traveling. He had also worked at Tri-State growers for several years prior to his illness. He was a member of the Roan Creek Baptist Church and had a heart for missions serving on several mission trips that traveled to Florida, Canada and Venezuela. He had a love for the land and enjoyed farming and raising cattle.

 

Survivors include his loving wife Janette Loggins Eastridge of the home; one daughter   Jennifer Shelton and husband Steve and a beautiful granddaughter Abigail of Elizabethton, Tennessee. His mother Lois Greer and husband Ralph of Mountain City, Tennessee. His mother-in-law Dora Loggins of Mountain City, Tennessee: one step brother Eddie Greer and wife Robin and their son Elliot of Maryland: a nephew Brad Eastridge and family of Mountain City, Tennessee: one niece; Tonya Hernandez and family of Florida: one uncle; Larry Wallace and wife Margaret of Mountain City, Tennessee: three aunts; Louise Brown and Pauline Wallace of Trade, Tennessee and Sue Pleasant and husband Truett of Butler, Tennessee.

 

Harold was able to stay at home during his illness with the loving help of his caregivers which were the employees of Amedisys Home Health Care, Lois Greer, Dora Loggins, Shirley Reece and Linda Eastridge.

 

Funeral services for Harold will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2009 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux~Lipford~Teague Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Drake and Reverend Ricky Campbell to officiate. Pallbearers will be Brad Eastridge, Brian Taylor, Larry Wallace, Louis West, Terry Wallace, Benny Shupe and Kyle Lewis. Honorary Pall Bearers are Sam Taylor, Bob Heck, Jim Neaves, Barry Pleasant, Pat Greene, Bob Lewis and the employees of Tri-State Growers.` Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in the Phillippi cemetery in Mountain City, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm prior to the funeral services.
