Harold Sluder, age 56, of 11054 Hwy 421 North, Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 8, 2005 at his residence. A native of Mountain City, Tennessee, he was born on June 13, 1949 to Faye Martin Sluder of Shady Valley, Tennessee and the late Fred Sluder, who passed away in 2001. In addition to his father, Harold was preceded in death by two brothers: Teddy and Donald Sluder. Harold was a carpenter and was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his mother, Harold is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Sluder of North Carolina; three sons: Harold Sluder Jr. of North Carolina, Aaron Sluder and Adam Sluder of Shady Valley, Tennessee; three sisters: Margaret Hing of New Johnsonville, TN, Debbie Richards of Bristol, TN and Connie Bashford of Knoxville, TN; six brothers: Bill Sluder, Abilene, TX, Jim Sluder, Tonica, IL, Walter Sluder, Sullivan County, TN, Earl Sluder, Tommy Sluder and David Sluder, all of Shady Valley, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive and his aunt, Edna Blevins. Funeral Services for Harold Sluder will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Peake to officiate. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends of Harold. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 11054 Hwy 421 North, Shady Valley, Tennessee 37688. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Shady Valley Fire Department.
