Harold "Red-Eye" Stanton, age 62, of 218 Draft Road, Butler, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 24, 2004 at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Johnson County, Harold was born on May 3, 1942 to the late Conley H. and Winnie Mae Barlow-Stanton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Alice, Eddie, Ordy and Sarah; three brothers, Joe, Junior and Charlie and three infant siblings. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and butchering. Harold was a member of the Dry Run Volunteer Fire Department for 32 years and a member of Bakers Gap Baptist Church. Harold is survived by his wife, Linda C. Stanton, of the home; four daughters, Teresa Thompson and husband Charles; Sue Stanton, Nancy Holman and husband Bobby, all of Butler and Kay Pope and husband Earl of Vilas, NC; four sons, Johnny Stanton and wife Gaye, Bobby Stanton and wife Dawn, Timothy Stanton, all of Butler and Richard Stanton, of the home; one brother, Jady Stanton and wife Sue; best friend, Wade Snyder; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral Services for Harold will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 from the Baker's Gap Baptist Church with Rev. James Richardson, Rev. Harvey White and Rev. Ray Greene to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Sugar Grove Trio. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Baker's Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Daniel Arney, Douglas Arney, Marvin Arney, David Greene, Dennis Greene, Shawn Marsh and Randy Rook. Honorary Pallbearers will be: David Dugger, Bob Greene, Darrell Greene, John David Greene, Roy Greene, Bobby Holman, John Marsh, Robert Stanton and Hospice Nurse, Pam Bunting. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to Services at the Bakers Gap Baptist Church. At other times, friends may call at the residence.
