Harry Mullins Bentley, age 69 of Blountville, TN., passed away unexpectedly Dec. 5, 2011 at Bristol Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Bentley and mother, Georgia Bentley of Shady Valley, TN. Harry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lonita Bentley of the home, two daughters, April Dawn Bentley of the home, Kristy Scott and husband Chad of Jonesborough, TN., two grandsons, Samuel Chad and Caleb Bentley Scott, one brother, Olan Gary Bentley and wife Diane of Shady Valley, Tn., numerous nieces, nephews, and many special friends. Harry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lonita Bentley of the home, two daughters, April Dawn Bentley of the home, Kristy Scott and husband Chad of Jonesborough, TN., two grandsons, Samuel Chad and Caleb Bentley Scott, one brother, Olan Gary Bentley and wife Diane of Shady Valley, Tn., numerous nieces, nephews, and many special friends. Harry was a retired printer from The Kingsport Press and Mazer Corporation of Johnson City. He was a retiree from the U.S. Air Force and the Army National Guard- 1033 Transportation Company of Gate City, Va. Harry was a veteran of the first Gulf War (Desert Shield and Desert Storm). Harry was a member of the Commemorative Air Force. He was an active member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Chancellor Choir. Harry was devoted in his faith, and loved his church family. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church, with funeral services being held at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Full military graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, at East Lawn Memorial Park.
