Haskell Thurman McQueen, 81, of Shady Valley, TN passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Bristol, TN on April 9, 1940, a son of the late Walter and Alva McQueen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Pam McQueen, Rick McQueen, and Doug McQueen; one sister, Charlene Wright; and one grandson, Brandon McQueen. He was a lifelong resident of Shady Valley, TN and was a retired heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of the Shady Valley Fire Department for 47 years and a member of the Shady Valley Church of Christ for 50 years. Haskell is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dora McQueen; three children, Joyce Duncan and her companion, Bob Baker, David McQueen and his wife, Linda, and Brian McQueen and his companion, Ann Hartley; two sisters, Lydia Lewis and Reba Robinson; two brothers, Charles McQueen and his wife, Helen, and Kirby McQueen and his wife, Linda; five grandchildren, Shane Cornett, Sabrina Nolan, Keisha Crichton, Alan Duncan, and Tasha McQueen; six great grandchildren, Abigail Cornett, Brenden Cornett, Trevor McQueen, Connor Crichton, Luka McQueen, and Liam Crichton; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, December 31, 2021 at Garrett Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date.
