Hassie A. Woodard, age 90, of 340 Stage Road, Mountain City passed away, Tuesday, May 27, 2003 in the Mountain City Care Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Johnson County and was born April 3, 1913 to the late Manuel and Molly Goodman Johnson. She was preceded in Death by her husband Roby Woodard who died Sept. 2, 1983, also by a Grandson, Doug Stout, (3) Sisters, Mae Dunn, Bell Hartman, Verna Cornett and (5) Brothers, Claude Johnson, Dana Johnson, Zollie Johnson, Carmy Johnson and Ferd Johnson. She was a Member of the Christian Faith and a Homemaker. Survivors: (2) Daughters: Anita Roark, Mountain City Ruby McCulloch, Mountain City (1) Son: John Woodard, Minooka, Illinois (7) Grandchildren: Jody Devereaux, Kenny Roark, Connie Roark, Bobby Stout, Lee Woodard, Tyler Woodard, Ryan Woodard (5) Great Grandchildren: Brandy Bennett, Grady Stout, Nathan Roark, Brooke Dumontelle, Zack Dumontelle Several Nieces and Nephews Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Hassie A. Woodard, age 90, of 340 Stage Road, Mountain City will be Held 8:00 P. M. Friday from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Woods, Pastor Lola Hess and Mr. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. Music will be under the Direction of Larry Barry Graveside Services and Burial will be held 2:00 P. M. Saturday from the Sunset Memorial Park Pallbearers will be: Barton Taylor, Bill Taylor, Tim Campbell, Roger May, James Brewer, Lester Dunn and Bill Roark Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dr. James Shine, Staff of Mountain City Care Center, Woodrow McElyea, Bill Mains, Harold Hess. In Lieu of Flowers Memorials may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City. The family will assemble at the Funeral Home at 1:00 P. M. Saturday to go in Procession to the Cemetery. The family will receive Friends from 6 till 8:00 P. M. Friday at the Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may call at the residence, 340 Stage Road, Mountain City at anytime. Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
