Helen Smith

Helen Smith, age 82, of 3020 Highway 421 North, Mountain City, TN, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2005, at the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Johnson County, she was born October 25, 1923 to the late Jewell and Ida (Fenner) Hensley. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Dayton Smith, and one granddaughter, Cindy Guinn. She was a member of the Valley View United Methodist Church. Survivors include: three daughters: Carol "Joan" Wills and husband Jim, Mountain City; Joyce "Gaye" Whitaker, Mountain City; Donna Sue Eller and husband Larry, Mountain City; one son, James Earl "Pete" Smith and wife Brenda, Bristol, TN; two sisters: Willa Adams and husband Donnelly, Blountville, TN; Ethel Robinson and husband Joe, Blountville, TN; four brothers: Hasel Hensley and wife Jean, Bristol, TN; Roger Hensley and wife Kay, Mountain City; Jim Hensley and wife Sue, Mountain City; Tom Hensley and wife Helen, Mountain City; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial services will be held at a later date for Helen Smith, but friends may call at the home of her daughter, Joyce "Gaye" Whitaker, 3016 Highway 421 North, Mountain City, TN, at anytime.
