Hester D. Reece Eggers

Hester D. Reece Eggers, age 89, of 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City formerly of Trade, TN passed away, Friday, December 1, 2006 in the Mountain City Care Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Johnson County and was born September 14, 1917 to the late Roby C. and Callie Miller Reece. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edgar W. Eggers, who passed away January 3, 2004, also by a son Cecil Eggers, four brothers and five sisters, one son-in-law Allen Cress, one great granddaughter and one great grandson. She was a member of the Mountain City Church of Christ and loved flowers, gardening, quilting and her family and friends. Survivors include: Three sons: Donald Eggers and wife Louise of Vilas, NC Curtis Eggers and wife Lucy of Boone, NC Norman Ray (Bub) Eggers, Trade, TN Five daughters: Louise Morefield and Husband Everette of Meadowview, VA Lucille Cress of Mountain City Juanita Eggers of Mountain City Cara Lee Johnson and Husband Bernard of Boone, NC Jo Ella Winters of Mountain City One daughter-in-law: Susie Eggers of Catawba, NC One brother: Roby Reece Jr. , Have-De-Grace, Maryland One sister: Dora Eggers, Mountain City, Tennesee 28 Grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 5 Great-Great Grandchildren several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Sunday, December 3, 2006 from the Chapel of the Henson Funeral Home with Mr. Vergil Cretsinger and Mr. Bill Reece ministers to officiate. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park Pallbearers will be: Grandsons, Mark Leonard, Tim Leonard, Charles Eggers, Junior Pope, Tony Norris, Darrell Eggers and Bob Eggers Honorary Pallbearers will be: Everette Morefield, Bernard Johnson, Roger Leonard, Dr. John Whitlock and the Staff of Mountain City Care Center. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, Tenn. 37683 The family will receive friends from 6 until 9:00 p. m.
