Howard Aca Brown, age 81, of 116 Reece Road, Trade, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at the VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tennessee, following a brief illness. A native of Watauga, North Carolina, he was born July 11, 1922 to the late Milton and Mirtie Mae Winebarger Brown. Howard retired from the State of North Carolina Department of Transportation, enjoyed fishing, was a World War II Veteran having served in the United States Army and was a member of the Zionville Baptist Church. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Cora Brown and Ola Brown-Russell, three brothers; Dean Brown, Earl Brown and Ray Brown. He is survived by his wife of 48 years; Juanita Mahala Brown of the home, two daughters; Saresa R. Brown and Sherry M. Brown both of the home, four sons; Bill D. Brown and Terry W. Brown both of the home, Bobby J. Brown and Wife Kim of Mountain City, Tennessee and Kenneth H. Brown and Wife Shari of Zionville, North Carolina, three brothers; Burl Brown, Gene Brown both of Trade, Tennessee and Mack Brown of Mountain City, Tennessee, five Grandchildren; Jason Brown of Zionville, North Carolina, Lou Ann Larking of Landenberg, Pennsylvania, Jason Bryant, Amie Brown and Nellie Bryant all of Mountain City, Tennessee, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Howard Aca Brown will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2004 from the Evergreen Baptist Church, Trade, Tennessee, with Rev. Ray Branch to officiate. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. prior to services. Millitary Graveside Services will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2004 from the Trade United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Bobby Reece, Freddy Reece, Butler Reece, Richard Reece, Edward Main, Steve Reece, Randy Brown and Lynn Reece. Honoarary Pallbearers are Dr. Jim Shine and members of the Johnson County Rescue Squad. Friends may also call at the residence at anytime. Family, Friends and Pallbearers are asked to meet at the church 10:00 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
