Mr. Howard Snyder, Sr. age 89 of 483 West Brushy Fork Road, Creston, North Carolina passed away at his home Friday afternoon February 12, 2010. He was the son of the late Andy J. Snyder and Callie Wallace Snyder. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Vertie Martin, Ethel Cabel and Edith Snyder and three brothers, Don Snyder, Glen Snyder and Earl Snyder. Mr. Snyder loved farming.

 

Survivors include: his wife, Corena Snyder, of the home; one son: Howard Snyder, Jr. and wife Kathy of Creston, NC; one sister: Mary Lee Snyder of Mountain City, TN; three granddaughters: Tracy Snyder Kilby and husband Tracy of Jefferson, NC; Tammy Snyder of Roanoke, VA; and Jessica Snyder of Creston, NC; three great grandchildren: Gregory Spencer, Savannah Snyder and Tanner Kilby; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services for Howard Snyder, Sr. will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2010 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux~Lipford~Teague Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Campbell and Rev. Jim Henson officiating. Music will be provided by Jerry Horne and The Masters Touch. Entombment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in Ashelawn Memorial Park Mausoleum of Prayer in Jefferson, NC. Pallbearers will be James Payne, Burman Main, Will Thomas, Ray Howard, Brandon Main, John Shelton, Kenny Wilson and Jack Shelton. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday prior to the funeral service.

 

At other times friends may call at the residence, 483 W. Brushy Fork Road, Creston, NC, at any time.
