Obituary for: Howard "Gump"Wilson Mr. Howard "Gump "Wilson, age 78, of 165 Fleet Garland Lane Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, July 4th, 2007 at the Erwin Health Care Center of Erwin, Tennessee. Mr. Wilson was a resident of the V.A. Domiciliary for over 30 years. He was a native of Watauga County, N.C. Mr. Wilson was born on May 5th, 1929 to the late George Cameron Wilson and Geneva Church Wilson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Lawrence Wilson, Kenneth Wilson, and Robert Wilson, and two sisters, Lucy Garland and Lois Buckland. Mr. Wilson was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during WW II Survivors include; Sister Margaret Jackson, Bristol, Tennessee, two Brothers, Ray Wilson and wife Juanita, Bristol, Tennessee. and Jimmy Wilson, Tennessee,. Brother -in- law -Fleet Garland, Shady Valley, Tennessee. Special Niece Brenda Blondell, Shady Valley, Tennessee who will miss him very much. Funeral services for Howard "Gump" Wilson will be held on Thursday, July 5th, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Stout officiating. Military Graveside services will be held at Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, July 5th, 2007 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at the funeral home prior to the funeral services. Pallbearers will be James Lester Garland, Charles Garland, Harold Garland, Allen Jackson. James Blondell, Ray Wilson, and Chris Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Tom Garland and Bill W. Jackson.
