Hunley Johnson

Hunley Johnson age 79, of 1571 Berry Branch Road, Mountain City, passed away on June 17,2008 in the Life Care of Gray, TN following an extended illness. He was a native of Yancey County, NC a Son of the late Noah and Texana Bennett Johnson, He was a member of the Huntdale Baptist Church in Mitchell County, NC Mr. Johnson was retired from the State Highway Department of TN, had worked in Timber Cutting and for the Railroad. He loved to go to Flea Markets and Gardening. Mr Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Melvin, Edd, Haul and Roscoe Johnson, by three sisters Edith Bryant, Irene Pate, and Bell Tipton.

 

Survivors are Two Sisters, Evelyn Bailey, Erwin, TN

     Doris Tipton, Green Mountain, NC

Funeral Service for Hunley Johnson will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday June 19, 2008 from the Henson Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Louie Pate officiating

Pallbearers will be Robbie Gray, Gary Whitson, Junior Pate, Noah Tipton, Joshua Price,Ronnie Peterson, Kim Hughes, and Gary Phillips.

Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral in the Sunset Memorial Park in Mountain City, TN

The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 PM at the Funeral Home Chapel.
