Ida Marie Greer

Ms. Ida Marie Greer, age 89, of 919 Medical Park Drive, formerly of  321 L Snyder Lane, Mountain City, TN passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 in Mountain City Care Center. She was the daughter of the late George Washington Howard and Elizabeth Snyder Howard. Ms. Greer was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and she enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Greer, in 1989; two sons: Loyd Greer and Daniel Greer; one daughter: Betty Jane Greer; one brother: Clyde Howard and one sister: Blanche Howard.

 

Survivors include: two daughters: Polly McQueen and husband Danny of Shady Valley, TN; Linda Price and husband Bill of Mountain City, TN; two sons: Jim Greer and wife Betty and Paul Greer and wife Tina, all of Mountain City, TN; one brother: Clint Howard of Mountain City, TN; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral service for Ms. Ida Marie Greer will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from Charles  B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford-Teague Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Simcox and Rev. Clyde Campbell officiating. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John Whitlock and the staff of Mountain City Care Center. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday. Graveside service and interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 in Sunset Memorial Park.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683 or to Antioch Baptist Church.

 

At other times friends may call at the home of the sons, Paul Greer, 321 L. Snyder Lane, Mountain City, TN or Jim Greer, 233 Pedro Shoun Lane, Lot 9, Mountain City, TN.
