Inez Miller, age 90, of 1255 W Main Street, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. A native of Johnson County, she was born March 21, 1915 to the late Millard M. Eggers, Sr. and Nelia Maines Eggers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Miller, who passed away in 2003; one daughter, Lois Reece, who passed away in 1980; one son, William "Jack" Miller, who passed away in 1998; five grandchildren: Sandra Robbins, Beverly Peresada, Diana Watson, Michael Matheson and Freddy Stout; three brothers: Stacy, Taft and and Infant Eggers: three sisters: Lola Wilson, Mae Cornett and Alice Bumgardner. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and member of the First Christian Church where she and her late husband, Russell, served as custodians for several years. Surviving are five daughters: Betty Stout, Mary Nell Lewis, Louise Matheson and Josephine Vaught, all of Mountain City, TN and Maxine Miller of Johnson City, TN; one Sister, Vennia Cornett of Trade, TN; one brother, Millard M. Eggers of PA; 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Inez Miller will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2006 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Hutchinson and Mr. Dwayne Dickson to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Fred Ramsey. Interment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Scott Matheson, Wade Lewis, Joe Lewis, Earl Greer, Jack Miller, Steve Miller, Larry Reece, Ken Reece, Donald Stout, and Kevin Stout. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dr. Buddy Clayton, Dr. Ahmed Khan, Dr. George Maly, Dr. Christopher Sholes, Dr. Jessica Stanley, Dr. Sunill, all caregivers at the Johnson City Medical Center, Harold Potter, Jack Cress, Members of the Johnson County Rescue Squad and special caregiver, Ginger Peters - a great granddaughter who gave so freely of her time, talent, and expertise. A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior to funeral services on Thursday. At other times, friends may call at the residence of Jo Vaught, 530 Hospital Road, Mountain City, TN, 37683. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, Contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Food Bank, 401 W Main, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
