Ms Irene Lowe Hicks, age 73, of 538 Rabbit Hollow Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away peacefully Saturday evening July 25, 2009 at her residence.

Ms Hicks was a member of the Doe Valley United Methodist Church.

She was a homemaker and loved cooking. She is the daughter of the late Roy Lowe and Cassie Stamper Lowe. Irene is proceeded in death by her husband of 48 years

James Tennessee “J.T.” Hicks and great grand-daughter Sway Hicks-Anderson.

 

Survivors include two sons; Jerry Bond Hicks and wife, Glenda and Ricky Allen Hicks, both of Mountain City, Tennessee. Three sisters: Jearldine Hicks and husband Lester of Mountain City, Tennessee, Bonita West of Piney Flats, Tennessee and Christine Drayer of Jonesborough, Tennessee. One special daughter-in-law Susan Hicks of Mountain City, Tennessee. Two wonderful granddaughters: Tanya Gail Hicks and Misty Dawn Hicks of Mountain City, Tennessee. 

Two Special Great Grandsons: Henry “Dillon” Hicks-Anderson and Aiden Isaiah Stout of Mountain City, Tennessee. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Irene had many Special Friends that include Teresa Eldreth, Chrissy Bowers and Aline Weber.

 

Graveside Service and Interment for Ms Hicks will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday July 28, 2009 in the Roselawn Memory Gardens, 3033 South Roan Street, Johnson City, Tennessee. Reverend Kristie Banes and Mr Harold Shoemaker are to officiate.

Pallbearers will be Billy Hicks, Charlie Hicks, Mike Dye, Rondall West, Jimmy West, Roger Dye, Danny Dye and David Dye. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Rhudy, Aaron Stout, Harold Shoemaker, Max Weber, Dr. John Whitlock, James Sherrill, Doug Norris, Eric Winters, Michael Dye and John Ray.

Ms. Hicks’ body will Lie-in-State Monday from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., July 27, 2009 in the East Side Memory Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home, Mountain City, Tennessee.

 

Friends may also call at the residence at 538 Rabbit Hollow Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee at anytime.

 

In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Johnson County Cancer Support Group c/o Flo Bellamy, 3510 Highway 421N Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
