Irene E. Lambert

Irene E. Lambert, age 76, of 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City formally of 134 Cornett Lane, Mountain City passed away Sunday, January 22, 2006 at the Mountain City Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was a native of Washington County, VA and was born May 29, 1929 to the late Clinton and Matilda Daye. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Billy Joe Lambert who died in 2003, one daughter; Susan Miller and several brothers and sisters. She was the Director of housekeeping for Mountain City Care Center for 18 years. She Was a member of the Liberty Christian Church and the Ladies Aide of Liberty Christian Church. and loved gardening and crafts. Survivors include: Two daughters: Patrica Harris and husband Tom W. Dugger of Mountain City Angela Sifford and husband Roy A of Elizabethton, TN One son: Carl David Daye of Memphis, TN One sister: Kathlene Richardson of Mountain City Six grandchildren Several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren nieces and nephews also survive. Special friends: Georgie Nichols and Lois Bowlin Funeral services will be held 7:00 p. m. Tuesday from the chapel of the Henson Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. Graveside service and burial will be held 11:00 a. m. Wednesday from the Green Cove Baptist Church Cemetery in Virginia. Pallbearers will be friends Honorary Pallbearers will be: Doug Hornsby and Dr. John Whitlock The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:00 p. m. Tuesday prior the funeral service and other times friends may call at the residence 134 Cornett Lane, Mountain City at anytime.
