Isabella Newcomb

Isabella Newcomb, age 85, of 2518 Plymouth Road, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born May 9, 1931 to the late John Toler and Mildred Class Toler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Newcomb, one sister, Marilyn Holley, and one brother, Kenneth Toler. Isabella attended Hosanna Fellowship Church in Johnson City and was a former member of First Baptist Church in Mountain City where she played the organ. She enjoyed spending time gardening, sewing, and crocheting. She especially loved her cat Scooby Doo.

She is survived by four daughters: Gail Howarth of Ventura, California, Susan Kelenfy and husband Joe of Gainsville, Georgia, Carla Franklin and husband Ben of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Shirli Howell and husband Junior of Linville, North Carolina, and one sister, Jo Ann Barber of Biloxi, Mississippi. Ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

There will be a private graveside service, Friday, May 27, 2016 from Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Jeff Oakes officiating. A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 27, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. from Hosanna Fellowship in Johnson City, Tennessee.
