James Paul Jim Pass Sr.

James Paul "Jim" Pass Sr. age 56 of 133 Grindstaff Road, Butler, Tennessee passed away on Monday, August 7th at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Pass was a Johnson County native and was born January 30, 1950 to Mrs. Ida Ward Pass Forrester of Butler, TN, and the late Paul James Pass. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by 2 uncles: Joe Ward and Lloyd Ward. Mr. Pass was a member as well as a deacon at the Dyson Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Pass was a retired carpenter and a United States Navy Veteran, having served during Vietnam. Survivors, in addition to his mother, Ida Forrester, include his wife of 36 years Brenda Grindstaff Pass of the Home; 3 sons: Jamie Pass, Butler, Tennessee; Jeff Pass and wife Cindy, Butler, Tennessee; Jonathan Pass and wife Jennifer, Butler, Tennessee; 2 Brothers: Danny Pass and Tom Pass, both of Butler, Tennessee; 2 Sisters: Mildred Pass of Butler, Tennessee, and Paulette Engles, of Illinois; two granddaughters: Ashlyn Pass and Susan Daye; one grandson, Landon Raber, and one special grandson, George Williams; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. James Paul "Jim" Pass Sr., will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 9th 2006 from the Dyson Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Fletcher to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Fletcher Family and the church choir. Pallbearers will be: Jeff Pass, Jamie Pass, Jonathan Pass, Danny Pass Jr., Dean Fletcher, Billy Wilson, Gary Phillips, and Kevin Proffitt. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Sanford Courtner, Bill Dorton, Emory Davis, Harold Blevins, Tom Pass, Danny Pass Sr. and Men of the Dyson Grove Baptist Church. The Family will receive friends from 6 until 7: 45 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10th, from the Grindstaff cemetery.
