James Edward Osborne

James ‘Jim’ Osborne, age 86, of Creston, North Carolina, passed away at Ashe Memorial Hospital on May 18, 2019.  Jim was born May 15, 1933, to the late Conley Osborne and Nancy Mahala Osborne.  In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife Lois Osborne; brothers, Teddy Osborne, Gene Osborne, and Tom Osborne & wife Myrtle; sisters, Goldie Stewart and husband Bud, Delcie Deyton and husband Edgal, and Ina Mae Pierce.

Jim was a talented gardener and beekeeper.  He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, and delivering meals.

Jim is survived by his children, Sandra Perry of Coatesville, PA, Sherry Taylor and husband Andy of Creston, NC, and Steve Osborne and wife Angie of VA; grandchildren, Angel Kirkner and Rob, Ashley Osborne and Jonathan, Tanner Rominger and Talia Rominger; great-grandchildren, Stephen, Madison, Bobby, and Leia ; brother, Bill Osborne; sister, Margaret Teague; brother-in-law, Willie Pierce; many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Graveside service for Jim will be held at 1pm on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the Osborne – Mahala Cemetery in Ashe County, NC with Rev. Jim Henson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6pm – 8pm on Friday, May 24, 2018, in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Andy Taylor, Tanner Rominger, Rob Kirkner, Santana Arizoca, Jeremy Bunting, and Phillip Bunting.  Honorary Pallbearers will be James Payne, Len Wilson, and Steve Allen.
