James Walker Rash, age 87, of 452 Harbin Drive, Mountain City , Tenn. Formerly of Bradshaw, West Virginia died Friday, May 2, 2003 at Watauga Medical Center, Boone, N. C. He was a Native Of Laurel Bloomery, Tenn. And was born September 8, 1915 to the late James and Augusta Gentry Rash. He was preceded in death by his wife Melva Murphy Rash, also by (2) Brothers, Conley and Oscar Rash and (2) Sisters, Gladys Harmon and Ruby Leffman. He retired after 40 of service as an Electrician for Island Creek Coal Company. He was a Member of the Clinton Chapel Presbyterian Church, Taylorsville Masonic Lodge # 243 F & AM. He was also a Army Veteran of World War II, Past Commander of the American Legion Post # 175 in Bradshaw, West Virginia and an avid Hunter and Fisherman. He is survived by his Daughter: Karen R. Robinson, of Columbus, Ohio Grandson and Wife: Craig T. and Alicia Robinson, of Raleigh, N. C. Granddaughter & Husband, Tonya Kaye and Jeff Roberts, Charlotte, N. C. Great Granddaughter: Casey Roberts, Great Grandsons: Jack and Carter Roberts (1) Sister and Husband: Lee and Ralph Crowder, of Mountain City, Tenn. Numerous Loving Nieces and Nephews Special Caregivers, Bob and Shirley Reece Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for James Walker Rash, age 87, of 452 Harbin Drive, Mountain City, Tenn. Will be held at 4:00 P. M. Sunday from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Hutchinson and Rev. James Gentry to officiate. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, Virginia accorded By the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be: John Muse, Michael Chatterton, Morris Bury, Bill Gentry, Bob Reece, Donnie Rash, Johnny Rash, Pete Rash, David Rash, James Walsh.. The family will receive Friends from 3 till 4 P. M. Sunday at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may call at the Home of a Sister, Lee Crowder, 452 Harbin Drive Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements.
