James “Red” David Sanders (79), son of the late David Sanders, Jr. and Pauline Ina (Vernon) Sanders, was called home Sunday, April 3, 2022. Preceded in death by his parents and nephews Chris Allen Booher and Mark Lee Booher. He is survived by his son, Jimmie Sanders (Ginger Sholes, Heather Sanders) and sisters Barbara Givson, Rita (Billy) Witt. He was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, niece, nephews and their families; including Harley Sanders (Lisa Meadows), NiCole Mumpower (Kenny Campbell), Brandon Sanders, Barry Sanders and Leo Sanders (grandchildren), NovaLee Sanders, Gunner Mumpower, Shooter Mumpower, Dixie Mumpower (Great grandchildren, Paula Carver (Niece), David Allen Witt, Michael Scott Witt, and Steven Matthew Witt (Nephews), and their families respectively. Special friends include Ken marshall and Peggy Blevins. As a native of Bristol, Virginia, Red raised his family and conducted his business locally. He was a dedicated over the road truck driver for 56 years. Many special memories are cherished by those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a memorial donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association at: act.alz.org. Memorial Service/Celebration of Life to be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 4:00 pm (Family) and 4:30 pm (Friends). Services will be held at: Open Bible Freewill Baptist Church, 6648 Daffodil Lane, Bluff City, TN 37618. Potluck supper to follow, please bring a dish.
