James Pope Sr.

James Pope Sr., age 83, of 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, TN, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at the Mountain City Care Center. A native of Johnson County, TN, he was born January 1, 1922. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Rob, Bill, and Dane Pope. He attended New Hope Baptist Church and loved to fish. Survivors include his wife, Nettie Pope, Mountain City; One daughter, Dorothy Pope, Elizabethton, TN; two sons: James Pope Jr. and "June Bug" Pope, both of Mountain City; one grandson, Cody James Pope; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside Services for James Pope Sr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2005 from the Rainbow Cemetery with Rev. Doug Stidham officiating. A visitation will be held from 1 to 1:30 p.m. at the Hux-Tetrick funeral home prior to services on Saturday.
