James E. Thomas

James E. Thomas, age 61, of Greendale Home of Abingdon, VA, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va. He was born on June, 4 1944 in Banner Elk, North Carolina and was raised in Trade, Tennessee, where he had made his home for many years. James was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Ruth Thomas and his grandparents, Clyde and Nettie Thomas all of Trade, Tennessee. He is survived four uncles and two aunts: Glenn Thomas, Ray Thomas, both of Lenoir, NC; Dean Thomas, Trade, TN; Everette Thomas, Zionville, NC, Marie Castle, Wilmore, Kentucky and Sue Reece, Media, PA. Several cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain City, Tennessee, with Rev. Ray Branch and Mr. Ricky Niece to officiate. Soloist will be Ms. Brenda Wallace. The family will receive friends from 12:30 -2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2005 prior to Services at the Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Zionville, North Carolina. Active Pallbearers will be Family and Friends of James.
