Janet Darlene Ashley

Janet Darlene Ashley, age 93 of Bristol, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026 in Bristol Regional Medical Center.  She was born February 22, 1933 to the late Eli Hayes and Bonnie Thompson Hayes.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Ashley; two sons, Jimmy Ashley and Roger Ashley; brohers, Clarence Hayes, Earl Hayes and Edgar Hayes; sisters, Reba Long and Irene Haga and grandson, Christopher Ashley. 

Janet was a kind and gentle soul who found great joy in the beauty of God's creation.  She loved spending time gardening and tending to her flowers, taking pride in the colorful blooms that surrounded her home.  Janet was gifted with her hands and enjoyed quilting and crocheting.  Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she was a faithful member of the Konnarock Seventh-day Adventist Church.  She will be remembered for her loving heart, her quiet strength and the warmth she sahred with everyone who knew her.  

Those left to cherish Janet's memory include her daughter, Lisa Ashley; sons, Tommy Ashley and Ronnie (Connie) Ashley; brothers, Russell (Jimmie) Hayes; grandchildren, Crystal (Neko) Aldridge and Heather (Aaron) Cook and Lisa Ashley; great grand children, Alayah Howard and Ashlyn Howard; and niece and nephew, Patty and Dave Newport.  

A graveside service for Janet will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Blevins Cemetery on White Top Mountain with Dan Huffman and Frank Ricks officiating.
