Janice T. Woodard Arnold, age 49, of 911 Fire Tower Road, Mountain City, TN passed away suddenly on October 22, 2014 in Johnson County Community Hospital. She was born August 6, 1965 to the late Dayton Grindstaff and JoAnn Adams Grindstaff. She was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church and she loved shopping. Janice was a member of "JCHS Class of 83". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Danny and Lloyd Crowe and a sister Gail. Survivors include: her husband, Jett Arnold, of the home; one loving son, Gary Woodard II of Johnson City, TN; three stepdaughters: Criston Arnold of Lenoir, NC; Ashley Arnold of Ashville, NC and Tracie Arnold of Raleigh, NC; sisters: Shirley Morrell of Elizabethton, TN and Charlotte Chaney of Valdese, NC; three brothers: Rick Grindstaff and wife Ginny of Laurel Bloomery, TN; Jerry Grindstaff and wife Shelia of Vilas, NC and Ken Crowe of Elizabethton, TN; two grandchildren: Tori Arnold and Ryder Kirby and several nieces and nephews. Mother-In-Law, Nell Arnold and Gary's father and stepmother, Gary and Lisa Woodard; and special friends Pip Mains, Scott Guy, Gail Miller, Goldie Luckett, Dot Shumate and Mary Hawkins; as well as her dogs Jinx and Lucky also survive. A memorial service for Janice T. Woodard Arnold will be held Sunday, October 26, 2014 in the East Side Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bowers officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Stout, Norman Tester, Jack Stout, Jeremiah Burns, McCauley Babb, Jesse Grindstaff, Travis Grindstaff, Craig Grindstaff and Shane Woodard.
