Jarvis Sonny Baird

We are saddened to announce the passing of Jarvis “Sonny” Baird, age 80, on Sunday, April 24, 2022. He was born July 9, 1941 to the late Byron Baird and Myra Buchanan Baird. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters: Marilyn Vaught, Moveta Barlow, Marietta Forrester, Marlene Dodgion; and brothers, Denver and Jody Baird. Those left to cherish his memory include daughter Regina Baird of Mountain City, TN and son Rob Baird (Jeanine) of Marshall, VA; two grandchildren: Allen Parker of Erwin, TN and Ashley Baird of Bristol, VA and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from the Buchanan Cemetery with Dr. Gale Hartley officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Brian and Darrell Barlow. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday April 29, 2022 at the Hux & Lipford funeral Home.
