Obituary for: J.D. Head, age 78, of 351 Old Forge Creek Circle, Mountain City, TN passed away Sunday, June 08, 2003 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Elizabethton, TN from an extended illness. He was born October 05, 1924. He was prec eded in death by his mother Alice Head, two brothers, Ray Head and Rhonda Head and one half-brother, Arliss Eldreth. He was employed by the Johnson County Highway Department for 37 years and a Dale Earnhardt fan. Survived By: Wife: Beulah Farmer Head, of the Home (1) Daughter: Wilma Tuten and Husband Cheyene, Mountain City, TN (1) Son: Kenneth Head and Wife Jane, Mountain City, TN (2) Grandchildren: Timmy Taylor and Wife Melissa, Mountain City, TN Amy Head, Mountain City, TN (1) Step-Grandchild: Sierra Tuten, Creston, NC (2) Great Grandchildren: Brittany Taylor, Mountain City, TN Amber Taylor, Mountain City, TN Special Friend: Judy Gentry Several nieces and nephews Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for J.D. Head, age 78, of 351 Old Forge Creek Circle, Mountain City, TN will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003 from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Spencer Roark and Rev. Frank Woods to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Gary Laws, Daniel Laws and Cathy Hedrick. Pallbearers will be: J.R. Miller, Bud Fenner, Chris Price, Bill Taylor, Paul Head and Gary Laws. Honorary Pallbearers are: Buford Lipford, Dr. Floyd Barker, Raymond Anderson, Dwight Adams, Ray Adams and Fred Oliver. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dunn Cemetery.
