Jean "Cookie" Bass

We are saddened to announce the passing of “Cookie” Jean Bass, age 80, on Thursday, November 14, 2024 in Elizabethton. She was born June 16, 1944 to the late Conley David Poole and Hattie Smith Poole. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Ray Bass, Sr. She was a small business owner and a member of Grace Baptist Church in Elizabethton, TN. Her hobbies were her church, reading her Bible and witnessing to people. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Annette (Chris) Ford; two sons: Ken (Melissa) Bass and James (Janine) Bass; one brother: Kenneth Poole; four grandchildren: April Michelle Bass, Kenneth Ray Bass III, Jacob Bass and Dwayne Doyle Barnett; four great grandchildren: Emma Godsey, Caden Bass, Tucker David Bass and Truett Bass and several nieces and nephews. Special friends Marsha, her caregiver, Mary of Gentevia Hospice and her baby dog Annie also survive. A graveside service for Cookie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024 at The Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee. Everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery at 10:45.
