Obituary for; Jean Eleanor Hobbs Shiflett age 73, of 219 Long Road, Shady Valley, Tennessee passed away Saturday, March 15, 2003 at her residence following an extended illness. She was a native of Mill Rift, Pa. and was a daughter of the late Roy Blackman and Ruth Beck Blackman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hobbs also (1) Sister, Dorothy Wortzel. She was a 1947 Graduate of Matamoris High School, she loved writing poems. Mrs. Shiflett was a retired employee with J.C. Penny's and a member of the Shady Valley Baptist Church. Survivors: 2 Daughters: Linda Jean Tornetta Trotta, and Husband Jim,Matamoris, Pa. Lisa Eileen Hobbs Cuddy, and husband Toby, Shady Valley, TN 3 Sons; Harry Lewis Hobbs Jr. and wife Patti, Glen Allen, Va. David Walter Hobbs, Booneville, N.C. Charles Roy Hobbs, and wife Cathy, Staunton, Va. 1 Brother; Jim Blackman, Newport Richie, Fla. 15 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild Special friends, members of the Shady Valley Baptist Church, Shady Senior Center, Sharon Henry and a very, very special friend, Oso. Several Nieces and Nephews Henson Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. Memorial services for Jean Eleanor Hobbs Shiflett, will be held 7:00 P. M. Monday from the Shady Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Porter to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:00 P.M. at the Church or at the residence at any time.
